The heritage character of the villa and its architectural detailing is respected, while beyond the iconic street frontage, the architecture created evokes openness and lightness to suit the needs of modern day family living.
The extension to the rear of the existing villa was configured as two stacked monolithic solid masses. The industrial hardness of the exterior cladding encases the light, airy interiors, an intentional contrast between light and dark, manufactured and natural materials.
A pared-back materials palette features subtle, elegant bespoke cabinetry design throughout the entire house. A custom designed and crafted stairway connects the levels, its materials referencing interior fittings and exterior detailing around the outdoor entertaining area.
