New kitchen within an existing 1920's bungalow. Pureness of tone and clear delineation of architectural form creates a focus for design so that composition and craftsmanship dictate the overall aesthetic. The reduced materials palette draws attention to the aesthetic elegance within the linear structure of layered plywood sheeting. The design feature divides and defines the cabinetry as it wraps around the interior walls of the kitchen. Light and openness is created through a skylight, from which natural light filters and reflects across pristine white surfaces. A deliberately stark, modern design in every sense to contrast the dwelling's traditional architectural bones.
