Sussex Street

The refurbishment and new extension of a 100 year-old villa on a compact inner city site.

A new pavilion was introduced at the rear of the site; it is connected to the existing villa via a linear axis, which in turn also creates a north-facing courtyard.

The new parts of the building are covered in vertical battens that diffuse the new architecture and also control light and shade; these create a more dynamic experience as you transition through the spaces of the home.
